El Honda Civic de sexta generación se presentó en 1995 con tres puertas traseras, sedán de cuatro puertas y carrocería de coupé de dos puertas, replicando la línea de su predecesor. También se fabricó un hatchback de 5 puertas para reemplazar el hatchback Honda Concerto en Europa, pero este modelo, aunque utilizaba el mismo lenguaje de diseño que el resto de la gama Civic, era bastante diferente, en lugar de ser una versión hatchback del Honda Domani, compartiendo plataforma del automóvil que estaba relacionada con la quinta generación (EG / EH / EJ) Civic. El Domani reemplazó la versión sedán del Concerto en Japón, mientras que la versión sedán del Concerto fue reemplazada directamente por el sedán Civic de sexta generación en otros mercados. The sixth generation Honda Civic is an automobile produced by Honda from 1995 until 2000. It was introduced in 1995 with 3-door hatchback, 4-door sedan and 2-door coupe body styles, replicating its predecessor's lineup. A 5-door hatchback was also produced to replace the Honda Concerto hatchback in Europe but this model, while using the same design language as the rest of the Civic range, was quite distinct, instead being a hatchback version of the Honda Domani, sharing that car's platform which was related to the fifth-generation (EG/EH/EJ) Civic. The Domani replaced the sedan version of the Concerto in Japan while the sedan version of the Concerto was directly replaced by the sixth generation Civic sedan in other markets. Two wagons were also made available; the JDM Orthia, based on the Civic sedan/3-door hatchback line, and a 5-door hatchback/Domani-based model, sold as the Civic Aerodeck, in Europe. Neither were offered in North America. The Civic 5-door hatchback also formed the basis for the 1995 Rover 400 although the 4-door sedan version of the Rover was quite distinct from the Domani.

Эта модель хоть и использовала дизайн шестого поколения, но была построена на платформе пятого поколения (EG/EH/EJ) и была европейской версией японской модели Honda Domani (так называемая версия «англичанка», «5.5 поколение»). Модель Domani заменила седан Concerto в Японии, на других рынках седан Concerto был заменён на Civic шестого поколения. Также были представлены две версии универсалов: Orthia для внутреннего рынка Японии, построенный на основе седана/трёхдверного хетчбэка Civic и пятидверный универсал, построенный на основе Domani и продававшийся в Европе под названием Civic Aerodeck. В США универсалы не продавались. Пятидверный Civic в кузове лифтбэк был взят за основу для модели Rover 400.
