Ce modèle partageait sa carrosserie avec le modèle Buick LeSabre, mais il était plus luxueux. La Buick Centurion était disponible en 3 styles de carrosserie, 2 portes décapotable, 2 portes sans montants et 4 portes sans montants. Le moteur standard était le V8 455 Buick à carburation quadruple corps était standard en 1971-72 et en option en 1973. Le V8 350 Buick à carburation quadruple corps était standard en 1973.

Der Buick Centurion war ein sportlicher PKW der oberen Mittelklasse, den der General Motors Konzern unter der Automobilmarke Buick von 1971 bis 1973 als Nachfolger des Buick Wildcat herstellte. Der Name Centurion leitet sich aus dem von 1937 bis 1958 gebauten Buick Century ab. In den USA wird das Fahrzeug auf Grund der Gesamtlänge und des Radstandes zu den Full-Size Cars gezählt. Die gehobene Ausstattung und die Marktposition der Marke Buick lässt den Centurion in Europa zur oberen Mittelklasse zählen.

The Buick Centurion is a full-size car built from the 1971 through 1973 model years. Replacing the Wildcat as the sporty iteration of Buick's three full-size car lines, it slotted between the LeSabre and Electra in the lineup. The Centurion name was inspired by a Buick concept car, the name coming from that of an officer in the Roman Army. The car's emblem was not the traditional Buick tri-shield, but a side profile of a centurion.
