Près de 68 000 Chery A5 ont été vendues en Chine en 2009, et près de 75 000 en 2010.

Des versions à motorisation hybride avaient été annoncées en 2008 mais la demande en hybrides de la clientèle chinoise étant quasiment inexistante, seule une version hybride léger fut commercialisée[1].

Chery A5 — переднеприводный пятиместный седан класса C. Chery A5 в России выпускался под названиями Chery Fora («Автотор» с 2007 по 2008 гг.) и Vortex Estina (с 2008 по 2014 год) на заводе ТагАЗ в Таганроге. На Украинском рынке автомобиль назывался Chery Elara. A5, равно как и модель Kimo уже можно расценивать как самостоятельный проект Chery.
