В 1901 году было выпущено 400 машин[1], 2500 в следующем, а всего около 19 тысяч.[1]
Цена составляла US$ 650, что по тем временам позволяло отнести автомобиль к средней ценовой группе[2] — стоимость конкурентов составляла от $250 (1906 Success) до $800 (Ford «Doctor’s Car»).
Двигатель был одноцилиндровым, с водяным охлаждением, располагался посередине автомобиля и имел мощность 4 л. с. Карбюратор был сделан из бронзы, бензин поступал самотёком. Коробка передач была полуавтоматической, частично планетарной, с двумя ступенями переднего хода и одной заднего. Масса составляла 850 фунтов (386 кг).
Быстрый финансовый успех модели Curved Dash позволил компании Olds Motor Works построить новый завод в городе Лансинг, штат Мичиган.[3]

Oldsmobile Curved Dash war die erste Automobil-Baureihe der Olds Motor Works und war, noch vor dem Ford Modell T, das erste in Großserie hergestellte Automobil. The gasoline-powered Oldsmobile Model R, also known as the Curved Dash Oldsmobile,[3] is credited as being the first mass-produced automobile, meaning that it was built on an assembly line using interchangeable parts. It was introduced by the Oldsmobile company in 1901 and produced through 1903; 425 were produced the first year,[4] 2,500 in 1902, and over 19,000 were built in all.[5] When General Motors assumed operations from Ransom E.
