The UAZ Simbir (Russian: Симбир for Leopard), or UAZ-3162, is a model of off-road vehicle produced at the Russian Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant in 2000–2005. This car is a completely new model in relation to the UAZ-469 and modifications based on it. Is essentially a rebodied extended wheelbase UAZ-3160. On August 5, 1997 the first prototype of the UAZ-3160 rolled off the assembly line. April 27, 2000 saw the first production sample UAZ-3162 "Simbir" featuring a long wheelbase and new Spicer axles from the UAZ-3160.

In 2003 the car was awarded zero stars out of a possible four by the Russian ARCAP safety assessment program.[1]

The Simbir-based UAZ-2360 pickup truck was produced in small numbers in 2004–2005.[2] The payload was approximately 1000 kg.

The Simbir was in production until 2004.

La Uaz Simbir (dal russo Симбир, leopardo), modello 3162 della Casa automobilistica UAZ, è un veicolo fuoristrada prodotto nello stabilimento russo di Ulyanovsk tra il 2000 e il 2005. Questo veicolo è completamente indipendente dalla UAZ-469 e da tutti i modelli nati come modifica di quest'ultima. La sua origine, piuttosto, è legata alla UAZ-3160. Il 5 agosto 1997 il primo prototipo della UAZ-3160 lasciava le linee di assemblaggio, mentre già il 27 aprile 2000 iniziava la produzione della UAZ-3162 Simbir[1], che adottava un passo maggiorato e mutuava gli assi Spicer della UAZ-3160.

УАЗ-31622 «Симбир» — модель вседорожника, выпускавшегося на Ульяновским автозаводе в 2002—2005 гг. По сути является удлинённой модификацией УАЗ-3160, как и модель УАЗ-3162, но с мостами "спайсер" колеи 1600 мм, аналогично Уаз Патриот, и моторами ЗМЗ 16-ти клапанного семейства, вместо ранее использовавшихся УМЗ.
