Descrizione
La vettura è la prima prodotta con il marchio Polestar[2] ed è stata presentata il 17 ottobre 2017 al salone di Shanghai.
L'auto è una coupé a due volumi con carrozzeria a 2 porte, costruita sulla piattaforma Volvo Scalable Product Architecture e alimentato da un propulsore ibrido plug-in, che utilizza un motore termico montato all'anteriore e due motori elettrici disposti nella parte posteriore. La produzione della Polestar 1 è stata programmata per soli tre anni, con un totale previsto di esemplari costruiti pari a 1 500.[3]
Mentre la Polestar 1 Hero Edition è stata creata solo per un Need for Speed Heat

The Polestar 1 is a 2-door plug-in hybrid sports car marketed by Polestar, a brand of Volvo Cars. It is the first car produced by the company since becoming an independent car manufacturer in June 2017.[1] Based on Volvo's Concept Coupé from 2013, the Polestar 1 is built on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture platform and is powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a front-mounted engine and two electric motors at the rear. A limited production run has been capped to three years with a total of 1,500 units to be produced for the left-hand drive market only.[2] Production is to take place in Chengdu, China, where the company's first production facility was built.[3][fr] Polestar 1
