This article is a list of countries by the number of road motor vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants. This includes cars, vans, buses, freight and other trucks, but excludes two-wheelers.

China became the world's largest new car market in 2009

China has the largest fleet of motor vehicles in the world in 2022, with 307 million motor vehicles, excluding two-wheelers[1] and in 2009 became the world's largest new car market as well.[2][3] In 2011, a total of 80 million cars and commercial vehicles were built, led by China, with 18.4 million motor vehicles manufactured.[4]
